As well, with our smaller client-to-staff ratio, we can effectively ensure that your technique and form is correct and SAFE! Alter Ego Fitness Blog http://alteregofitness.blogspot.com/ Smaller Group Outdoor Fitness Classes Our progressively challenging, smaller group, outdoor fitness classes are perfect for those who want the benefits of almost having a personal trainer but at the shared cost of training in a group. These classes are usually done in a 6-Week progressively challenging format. On occasion, we may shorten the Training Session to 4-Weeks. The classes are 1.5 hours in duration and can be done 2 or 3 times per week. Class size is limited to a maximum of 18. Client-to-staff ratio is never more than 8-1. If you like outdoor activities, dislike going to the gym, or simply need/want something new and different to rejuvenate your fitness routine, then we have the program for you! We offer a realistic program of exercise aimed at achieving individual physical fitness goals, cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, permanent control of excess body fat and personal appearance. Included in the fee for these classes are: (1) Initial registration and nutrition seminar (this does not take up class time): (2) A Comprehensive Body Assessment; (3) Progressively challenging, invigorating and fun workouts; (4) Weekly motivational emails; and, (5) Ongoing email and phone support. As well, you will be given a Training Manual that contains your class schedule, directions to locations, an introduction to our Trainers, a nutrition component complete with numerous healthy recipe suggestions and an introduction to our Partners In Wellness. We ensure that classes are kept smaller and will have sufficient Trainers at each class to keep a client-to-trainer ratio of no more than 8-to-1. These classes are conducted in various local parks and locations. To assist clients in effectively planning the time required to travel to their classes, during a Training Session, we ensure that the locations used are within 10 minutes of each other. All classes begin slowly, to ensure you are properly warmed up prior to exertion, and end with stretching to help prevent sports related injuries. If you REALLY want to see results, all you have to do is follow the suggested nutrition regimen (remember - it's a lifestyle change, not a diet!) and get to each class. We'll provide the motivation, inspiration and FUN! Every class is specially designed to rev up your metabolism, maximize your fitness potential and boost your energy. We supply all the equipment, but please remember to bring a towel, drinking water and a well-rested body. And, remember to dress in layers because we play outside! Personal Training Personal training is one-on-one instruction that incorporates goal setting, fitness and health education into challenging workouts developed specifically for each individual's needs. Personal training programs are for those individuals who want to be active and fit, sculpt or tone their physique, or lose excess body fat, but would prefer the more personal one-on-one attention. All Alter Ego Fitness Experience Personal Trainers are fully qualified and BCRPA certified. We're confident that we can tailor a program that's right for your lifestyle, specific fitness goals, time commitment and schedule. A Personal Trainer will do an assessment of your current level of fitness and body composition (including girth measurements, body fat and BMI testing), review your goals, and then create an individually tailored program to help you achieve those goals safely and effectively. Your Personal Trainer will be there to provide instruction and assist you to perform various exercises. They will manage you and your program, monitor your technique and motivate you to give 100% in every workout. They will provide a personal touch to a totally safe and supportive training environment for you. As well, they will do an in-depth review, and subsequent monitoring, of your nutrition. Personal training can be provided on a one-to-one basis or as a shared "Small Group" (2 - 4 friends with one trainer) basis, on a twice-weekly, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis, or as often as you require. As a result of these factors, cost for this service can range from $25 - $65 per person/per hour. Kettlebell Training For those that don't already know, a kettlebell is a weight that looks somewhat like a cannonball with a handle attached. In addition to giving you incredible muscle endurance, when combined with a proper nutrition plan, a kettlebell workout will rapidly melt any excess fat that you may have! These are 1 hour classes. Kettlebell training involves compound exercises, that work multiple muscle groups simultaneously, and seeks to integrate your breathing, movement and alignment along with your ability to control and balance the weight. you are not isolating parts of the body the way you do with traditional weight-training workouts. Unlike traditional dumbbells, the kettlebell's center of mass is extended beyond the hand. This allows for swing movement not possible with traditional dumbbells and, because more muscle groups are utilized in the swinging and movement of a kettlebell (than during the lifting of dumbbells), a kettlebell workout is said to be more effective, and can yield better results in less time! Comprehensive Body Assessment A Comprehensive Body Assessment involves: Providing body fat percentage, hydration and body mass index (BMI) numbers; Taking of girth measurements; Postural analysis; Identifying long and short term goals; Identifying self-sabotage and lifestyle pitfalls; and, Nutritional information to help you reach your goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle. A Comprehensive Body Assessment will give you a complete idea of your current situation and can then be utilized to track your progress as you get leaner and fitter. Each appointment will take approximately 1 hour and we can arrange to do it at our location, your home or another location convenient for you (i.e. your gym at work).
