Mothering Touch Centre Pre and post natal specialty retail and teaching centre. The Mothering Touch Centre is an owner-operated, family-run enterprise. Our mission is to provide support, classes and information to new and expectant parents. We started out in 2004 in a tiny little storefront at the Oak Bay junction. We moved downtown to much more spacious and convenient premises on Fort Street in 2008. We offer a wide range of classes and drop-ins for parents and their children, from pregnancy to age 3. Baby Groups http://www.motheringtouch.ca/groups Baby Groups Drop-in groups for babies of all ages and their parents or care-givers We believe in facilitating the meeting of parents and their babies in diverse and comfortable groups to share their experiences. Within our baby groups, all parents, parents-to-be and babies are welcome: mothers and fathers, breastfeeding and bottle-feeding, first-time and experienced parents, biological and adoptive parents. Grandparents and aunts and uncles are welcome too! Our Pregnancy Group is for pregnant mothers only. Our baby groups are facilitated by moms, doulas and breastfeeding educators and our pregnancy groups are facilitated by experienced childbirth educators. We will also have speakers and discussions on topics chosen by the group. We have a group for everyone, from pregnancy to toddler-ville. The drop-in fee for each meeting is only $2! Prenatal Classes and Workshops Friendly supportive classes and workshop where parents-to-be can collect information to make decisions about their care through pregnancy and childbirth We believe parents value support and information as they make choices about their care during pregnancy and childbirth. Our Childbirth Preparation Series and Workshops provide a comfortable and friendly atmosphere where parents-to-be can meet to collect and discuss information and prepare themselves for the journey ahead. Our courses are designed by trained and experienced childbirth educators who are also doulas and breastfeeding counsellors. To register, contact Terry Lyon - 595-4905 Drop-In Pre and Postnatal Yoga and Fitness We believe women value opportunities to become comfortable with their bodies during pregnancy and after giving birth. All of our pre and post-natal yoga classes are lead by certified instructors specializing in helping women to strengthen and prepare their bodies for labour and motherhood. Our prenatal classes help women from their first trimester of pregnancy onwards enjoy the benefits of exercise during pregnancy, while our postnatal classes help women recover from the pregnancy and childbirth and embrace their beautiful new mama bodies! All activity classes are available on a drop-in basis only. Registration is not necessary for these classes. Plan to arrive 10 minutes before start time to make sure you have a spot in the class.
